His eyes lit up and he grinned ear to ear. When Ethan opened this truck on Christmas I knew immediately I had picked the right truck. This toy will be around for a long time, just like his Daddy’s old toy trucks. The addition of sound when you pull the handle gives the toy a little extra fun quality, but not enough that Mom or Dad will get thoroughly annoyed with it. It is a heavy duty sturdy plastic and even the moving parts seem sturdy. When the truck arrived I immediately could tell it was Tonka quality with years of play time ahead of it. This sturdy vehicle is kid-powered free-wheeling action! There is also access to the back through a hinged door. Squeeze the lever’s trigger to raise the waste container into the truck’s hopper.
Pull and rev-up the lever and watch the sparks fly in the arm’s window as the truck rumbles. The Strong Arm Garbage Truck is a burly free-wheeling vehicle with a multi-action trigger-lever built right in. Here is the description from the website: For a while every single truck we came across was a “tash tuck”. Ethan’s hearing has become ultra sensitive to these sounds and he can tell you a trash truck is coming from blocks away.
TONKA GARBAGE TRUCK WINDOWS
Emma & Ethan have a game now, every Thursday they race to the windows to watch the trash trucks come by with their new arms that pick up the containers. When I was contacted by Funrise Toys to review a Tonka Strong Arm truck I immediately knew which one to choose. The big metal ones that the little neighbor boys would dig in the sand with clear up to the newer tough plastic ones we have purchased as gifts for nephews and the few we have bought for Ethan.
I remember Tonka trucks for as far back as I can remember.
